Book publishers specializing in Sweden or Scandinavia are indeed a rare breed in America in the 21st century. At one point in the 19th century, there were at least 300 publishers of periodicals or books. One of the first is still around, Nordstjernan, the oldest and also ever-changing, most contemporary of the titles that cover Swedish and Swedish American news.
